But clearly its not to late for YOU to come back and whine about it when someone else posts on the topic :)
dude its about a year too late for you to whine about this crap, buzz off.
Oh step off with that selfrighteous tone…
If I draw Twilight Sparkle Neon Green, its not Twilight Sparkle. If I draw Fluttershy jet black then its not Fluttershy. If I draw Nightmare Rarity light gray, guess what? Its not Nightmare Rarity. “Artistic Expression” only goes so far when dealing with pre-established characters.
An artist has every right to draw a character how they feel but it does not make it correct. Its a valid criticism and people have a right to make it because it is literally changing the character as a whole.
again they dont have to justify anything to you. they can draw any character any way they want and its still art. it doesnt matter if YOU think its stupid or wrong, thats just your OPINION nothing more. having wrong/different colors doesnt make art bad it makes it odd, or weird, some would say unique but not bad and its still art.
I’m not saying that if I don’t like it, they’re stupid. I’m saying that if they do what appears to be them not paying attention to what the character actually looks like, then unless they’ll state that they did this on purpose, it will appear to me as an error caused by their ignorance and lack of paying attention to the character.
End of topic on my part.
>slander
Slander is spoken, libel is written.

NOBODY has to explain their choices with their art to you, or anybody for that matter, they make their art how they like it and its just as good as anything else.
so basically your point is you dont like their art so that must mean their idiots and terrible artists. thats gotta be the most ignorant closed minded thing ive heard in a long time.
your right on that its your opinion, OPINION, not fact. your welcome to your opinion like anyone else, regardless of how bad it is, but when you start postin things publicly slandering people in general just cause they dont do what you want then your just bein a jackass and should be the one to get lost. your welcome to your opinion, but when you post your opinion publicly anyone is welcome to post their own.
Next time, you might want to use proper punctuation and some capital letters before telling me to grow up.
It isn’t just about the coat colour. It extends also to the eyes that are grey for no reason other than the artist being ignorant about Nightmarity’s actual colours. Unless the artist explicitly states that he chose those colours because he considered them to be better, if their art uses these grey colours, then I can’t see it as anything else than them being ignorant about her actual colours.
I wouldn’t be bitching about it if they at least used her normal blue eyes (so I would at least know that they chose grey coat on purpose), or included an explanation that they purposefully used this grey set of colours. If they did neither, then to me, they were being ignorant about the character and her actual looks.
This is my opinion and I’m sticking to it. Either agree with me or move on.
its not your place to decide what makes someone an artist or not. an artist is someone who draws art. if they enjoy what they enjoy thats all that matters theres no right or wrong theres just art. im sure ya to some people usin the proper colors ‘looks’ better but to others the gray version looks better, in my case i like the grey more because it fits better for rarity and looks more elegant, neither way is really wrong and usin the gray version doesnt make someone any less of an artist then those who use the ‘official’ color. arts art regardless of if you like it, grow up.
I care. And I prefer to carefully pick the colours for characters I care about, instead of carelessly using the first ones I see, whether they are correct or not. Maybe most people will not know any better, but then again, they are not artists.
…
*does something*
Annoying enough for me to point out.
It’s the same issue like all those not very observant people who are clueless enough to give Sombra brown eyes instead of red because of one dumbass who picked completely wrong colours for their vector.
Very dark, almost black grey - yes.
Bright grey with desaturated non-blue eyes - heck no.
I won’t deny that.
However, many of them seem to go “hurr durr she’s grey on the cover and everyone draws her grey so I will too lol zomg”, and it’s this kind of people this guide is dedicated to.
If they are perfectly aware of the correct colours and yet they decide to use the grey ones because they consider them to be better, then well. Good for them I guess?
