Something caught my eye while looking for something to vector.
I thought the crown looked familiar but realized it wasn’t the Element of Harmony (it has more fancier “curls” holding up the star, and has jewels along the tiara edge).
It, in fact, appears to be the same vector/object from Twilight’s coronation ceremony. Now, knowing DHX in the past, they’ve reused art, but given they had to create a whole bunch of new assets for this show, you’d think they would have created a new crown as well.
This would imply that Twilight’s crown is the Macguffin here in the movie and is rather powerful in of itself.
Of course, I also could be waaaaay overthinking this :)

This is also my opinion.
There are theories about the Elements of Harmony changing shape after all.
(also I actually prefer this one to the big crown thingy TBH)
I would guess that it is the element of magic, but they re-shaped the gold bit. The gem on it is the magic part, the gold bit is just to be able to actually wear it.

Just think about all the possibilities of high school drama. There’s one whole season in the list that would come out of that line of thinking.
If it’s successful it might turn out into a full spin off series, that would be a matter of 1 or 2 years at most
im not sure if it is, if the movie flops, the probably wont go through with it
this movie is the start of a new series, a spin off…
i can not think of any interesting episodes to do with high school shit, it is very limited too.
That’s in the premise of the movie that the crown was stolen.
There’s a good theory at TVTropes that, given all the toys and stuff, that there’s a MArdi Gras type event which is when Twi’s crown is stolen. (This would explain how Summer Sizzle comes into all this).
