I wouldn’t really enjoy generating any drama, unlike some people. I just think I need to say what I want to say, that is all.  
In all seriousness, people threatened to kill and rape her, and they drew horrible pictures of her being raped and/or killed. I have seen them. Why would people do that? What would drive a person to put their effort into such lunacy?

And, I would like to know how you would glean some measure of insult from a nonsense word like Derpy and what you think of her alternative names.

She could’ve kept her opinions to herself. But, NO, she just had to send a letter to Hasbro and got the episode pulled and censored. She was an SJW (Social Justice Warrior), essentially people who find excuses to bully others under the pretext of “social justice activism”. Derp wasn’t even a word. Almost no one found it offensive. You piss of a hive of hornets, expect to get stung. That is just how things apparently work in reality.

I wish I could say it’s over, but I still keep track of Yamino. She is still traumatized over the whole “Derpygate” as it’s called, and I still can’t believe it was still talked about on this board. I know this pic was added 10 months ago, but I feel it still is relevant. I never liked the name “Derpy” because I would be offended if someone called me that. Yamino felt the same way, and she was treated like garbage while trying to defend her reasoning.

So a whole bunch of you were mad because you were offering opinions that may or may not have been insulting and she deleted them because she may possibly thought it was hurtful to her? Perish the thought that internet bullying exists! That is totally a good reason to send death threats and rape threats. Just because she disagreed that the portrayal of “Derpy” as a mentally slow pony with a speech problem was not Politically Correct. Way to be mature.

Yeah, I didn’t even realize “EarthBound” was that rare when I got it a long time ago. (For 30 bucks.) It is a good game, and kinda a parody of the RPG genre.  
I must add Chrono Trigger is a good game to.

They do it mostly for giggles. I have heard of some game conventions having mass Shaq Fu destroying ceremonies, where people will buy copies from the dealer’s den and destroy them in creative ways.
 
The worst part of Shaq Fu is how many copies they printed. It was such an awful game, but someone thought it would be a huge hit– it’s like E.T., but with no landfill and mass burial– which is why gamers took matters into their own hands.

Yep. Mostly because it had a more limited run than a standard RPG, for some reason, and also anyone that buys it just doesn’t want to let it go unless they’re quitting gaming entirely. It’s just that good! (see also, Chrono Trigger and Ogre Battle)  
FF6 has a buttload of copies floating around so only a completist of the complete will hit that high. I’ve only seen FF6 go that high when it has a complete box + NP Guide

Emulators are illegal, but I guess it’s not like they’re ever going to license, and rerelease that game ever again.  
I don’t know, destroying all the copies of a game, (even a crappy one) kinda screams “we have no life!” to me.
 
Surprisingly some games go pretty high on Ebay. I hear “EarthBound” goes for over $100 on it! (And to think I complained about paying $30 for my used copy…)

The cartridges are worthless on the market anyway, and if someone wants to play it that badly there are emulators.
 
Think about it this way: if they trashed almost all the cartridges of Shaq Fu, then the few that remain might actually be worth something some day. ;)

Sounds odd, and rather pointless… What if people want to play it just to see how bad it is? I remember “Shaq-Fu” was featured in the “worst games list” in Nintendo Power’s 100th issue. (“Babe’s Kid’s” for SNES got the #1 spot.)

Of all the MLP fan artists out there, why should she be rewarded with any kind of official recognition? She does not deserve it, and there are so many better artists who don’t antagonize the fandom deliberately. Artists that actually deserve a shot at putting their own stamp on the franchise.
 
Yamino is toxic. There’s no reason to let her be involved with this franchise unless it’s to piss us off.

It even isn’t that good. It’s really second grade compared to some of the other covers.

Eh, to be honest I’m going to overlook Yamino’s past drama. Even I can admit this is a cool cover she made. I know some will get upset at me saying this, but I wouldn’t actually mind her seeing more from her in fact. (Though, I doubt we’ll see any “Derpy” cameos on them.)
