In this alternate universe, Princess Celestia took young filly Starlight Glimmer in as her protégée. Meanwhile at Black Mesa in the desert of Appaloosa, Twilight Sparkle (already a grown unicorn mare) loaded a Xen crystal in the anti-mass spectrometer, unexpectedly allowing aliens of all shapes and sizes (including Headcrabs, Barnacles, Houndeyes, Antlions, Bullsquids, etc.) access to Equus.
