3 weeks ago this vector art showed up in an /mlp/ thread, along with some info. Notice that the filename is “ts_fs”, Twilight Sparkle _ Flash Sentry.

As long as they’re quiet about it or stick to the “Equestria Girls” tagged images, and haters stick to the “Equestria Girls Drama” tagged images, I think I’m good.
Personally I’m expecting the movie to about even out at 0, give or take 1.5 either side. I don’t expect it to be a complete disaster, and I don’t expect it to be anything special, but it’ll probably be relatively watchable. Cringeworthy at worst, guilty pleasure at best.
See, there’s where that argument is stupid. While yes, some people have definitively solved for “Z” already, but most haven’t. Most believe Z MAY be negative, but has a chance, however small, of being positive. People that automatically expect it to be positive (and be honest, anyone who says “Wait and see” do, but don’t want to commit in case it turns out the other way) are doing the exact same thing, yet never get called out on it.
That was the point, though it could be better written. I like your example. The trailer solved for x, but we don’t know y, and the average hater just arbitrarily solves for z based on incomplete information. y could be anything; we don’t know if z is positive or negative or to what magnitude on either side. But hey, we’ve seen a bunch of algebra equations; they’re all the same, aren’t they? If x is -2… hell, y and z have to be negative too, don’t they?

and… that equation is horribly written to serve your point. we have some of the variables, but not all of them, and we don’t have the finished product yet, so you can’t put ANY definitive number on the right side of that equation!
a better one would be x+y=z, x=-2

That the people who keep saying “you don’t have enough facts to form your negative opinion” are forming their opinion with that same “lack” of facts, yet refuse to admit that.

You know what’s also unconfirmed? That it ISN’T going to be as bad as it looks.
That’s fine since this isn’t an argument. This was just an opportunity to prove me ignorant by linking me to proof that these panicky claims are true, and not just an expectation formed around “it kinda looks like it’ll go that direction, so it definitely will.” After all, you did use the word “confirmed,” so I must be missing out on this confirmation.

All we know is that Twilight goes to a human world and spends time in a high school. Unless I’m missing something, people are making stuff up / guessing about other story details based on their experience of high school setting cliches, then attacking EG for adhering to those cliches when they haven’t in fact been confirmed.
Flash Sentry is a LOT better than Jock Fastflash.
