To help his sister & somewhat mother figure? to be confident enough to rule Equestria but I'm not getting into this whole boggle again 😂, either way how someone feels about a character out of universe isn't how a character may feel about a character in-universe. They was mad at the time but forgave him at the end because he put himself in harm's way to free Starlight.

Spike considers discord one of his guy friends and calls him basically a jerk with a heart of gold in one of the episodes of the show (u act tough but deep down your a softie) so he's one of his friends. They play O&O together ok lol 😂
