The date’s not wrong. She doesn’t do this for Nightmare Night. Trixie just randomly shows up at Twilight’s door dressed in a costume and threatens to be an annoying but law-abiding hindrance until Twilight gives her a confection. She does this several times a year.

I’d help Trixie breaking into Twilight’s house, so that she can loot all of sweets, while I do the dirty work
Then send Twilight on a little trip someplace far away, Hasta la vista Twilight :)
I hope the rock she gives her is given to Maud Pie.
Her goal is to be as annoying as possible. Showing up near Nightmare Night would be expected, and thus less annoying. Except, now here she is near Nightmare Night because Twilight has come to realize she doesn’t show up around Nightmare Night, so this is even more annoying :P

Bold of you to assume telling her no, or locking her out, would dissuade her. Besides, I doubt Twilight even has locks on her doors: no less than three villains have nearly destroyed Equestria by just swoocing into Twilight’s house and either robbing her, using her coffee table, or kidnapping her XD
Every non-piece of confection Twilight has ever given Trixie has appeared in an inconvenient place, each more inconvenient than the last :P
