Yes, the one with the beard works exactly because of it. It shows gallantry and power (the fabulous hair is a plus).

Whenever I saw trotsworth’s version of a male-Celestia, I always giggled to myself. Seeing a pony with a beard was kinda silly in my opinion. A few characters had beards too, but they were mostly in the background or one time characters, so I wasn’t as distract.

I like how this shows, that a male-celestia doesn’t need a beard to be manly.
