Pictured here is Skywhinny with her only daughter Amore and the love of her life, Ardere. Ardere wasn’t as much of a jerk as he appears here…as much, most ponies saw a bitterly cynical solider who lost any softness he had left in his work. Yet with Skywhinny he found himself drawn in, a desire to soothe her constant concerns that he didn’t quite understand, an admiration for a pony who could be just as fiery as him when she wanted to be. Sky deeply appreciated having somepony who could bring her off the proverbial edge without invalidating her emotions. They often found themselves lost in their dreams for the future, for themselves and the large loving family they wanted.

Sky and Ardere made a promise to fight any battle side by side, but when Grogars monsters became too strong of a force to handle a pregnant Skywhinny was forced to stay behind as the love of her life became another casualty.First her husband went and then one by one, so her did best friends, but Sky had made a commitment.

Little Amore needed her. She had no knowledge of the darkness on the horizon nor did she need to until it was absolutely necessary. Skywhinny provided her daughter with love and taught her everything she knew about crystal magic, filling her life with positive memories and hope. So she kept her promise, sick and exhausted, until the day she couldn’t take it anymore.

All young Amore had left when she was old enough was a literal crystal heart, the saddlebag with it inside being the only thing she took with her when she disappeared, later reappearing to help repair the world with other powerful ponies who had been orphans in the war.
