It’s time for an adventure with Party Matey Pinkie and her savage companion Gummy the Toothless! The quest for the Candy Booty begins! Aharr!
Illustration meant for Day 2 for my Pinktober set - now I’m quite late with drawing new ones I think. Here’s Pinkie Pie and Gummy taking roles as Pirates, going on an epic quest of fame, fortune and feast.
The idea for a drawing of the pirate Pinkie came from two sources - the MLP movie and Sea of Thieves. The first one is obviously inspired by official Pinkie toy in her pirate outfit, while the second is mostly for the environment and architecture - in this case a ship. While the drawing doesn’t have anything related to SOT, some inspiration come from that game. Originally I wanted to reference this game with Pinkie mentioning about “Fort of Fortune” or “Fort of the Damned” like they appear in the game, but then an idea for Candy Booty came in, distancing this illustration from being a clear homage to SOT.
I must admit that despite struggles with background as usual, I really like how it turned out in the end. While there could be a room for improvement, the clouds and the sea turned out nicely for my eye (even if I blurred it for post-processing). I really believe my background drawing skills are improving.
Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy the drawing ^^
