Meh, it’s nice for the differentiation; imagine, if you will, having both the Applejacks in one scene having a serious conversation with the others and try to say which one is talking; Applebrandy will eventually be less work than saying “male Applejack” and “female Applejack” assuming both versions would use the nickname AJ.
