Let’s do a quick walk around to get a feel for Starfall’s new layout.
Trailblazer’s Cutie Mark (+5) affects you roll. You roll a 7 +5 (required 10). Success!
While you are in no hurry, you decide to take a stroll around Starfalls Town and memorize the lay of the land. If anything, it serves as an excuse to stretch your legs, and take a quick break from your morning flight. Moonflower agrees.
As you begin to explore, you come across a small number of bat ponies on the way, all of whom seem happy to see their Oracle and her handsome champion. None of them stay to chat for long due to the late hour, but a few pleasantries are more than enough to share some smiles around.
Onto the exploration: you start by the well in the centre of town, around which are four residences, the longhouse, and a couple of tents. One of the tents is labelled as the mayor’s, seemingly prioritizing the building of other houses before their own.
To the north, another tent sleeps the village elder, and further to the east, a lone house basks in the swaying shadows of the orchard, likely claimed by somepony who found their calling in the harvest — or at least in the taste — of apples.
To the southeast is the new general store. While at this hour, most bat ponies are either already asleep or preparing to call it a night, the village shop is still conveniently open as always.
To the west is a temporary workshop where piles of wood and stone are brought in from the forest, and cut into pieces to build and furnish houses with.
Finally, to the northwest is the entrance to the old cave. Inside, waterfalls cover the far wall and crash into the faintly glowing waters below, flooding what was once the cave’s lower level. With sunlight currently beaming from the open ceiling, the waterfalls are teal and starless.
And while some rubble still litters most of the now skylit ruins, a path was cleared — and bridges rebuilt — to the western tunnel, beyond which lies Crystal Charm’s mining site.
The few lucky huts that were spared from the ceiling’s collapse have since been vacated in favour of better shelter — Moonflower’s included —, but hoofprints in the dirt make it plain that the bat ponies have not abandoned this place.
HINT:
You have explored Starfalls Town! While in the area, your mental map will be displayed on the Map screen unless you find a better one.
