Description

Here’s another drawing of the Senior Group, now taking place during their time as King Guto’s soldiers. While patroling the forest outside Griffinstone (while it’s out of town, it’s still part of the Griffon kingdom), the six friends are suddenly followed/ surrounded by some of the creatures inhabiting the area. Knowing the place and the behaviour of the animals living there as well as they believe they do, they are all prepared for any case. The absence of some of their scars is intentional. Hope you like it! ^^
Regarding their weapons, while Griffons possess passive forms of magic, such as firebreath and cloudwalking, they lack the same magical anatomy that ponies have, and therefore can’t actively perform magic on their own; instead, they have their own techniques that are also divided on the basis of weapons. They tend to use gear that is easy to carry and hide in their wings. Aside from swords, shields, spears, and other traditional knight weaponry, the Griffon guards expand to the use of a variety of different bladed, martial arts weapons. In the group’s case, Gruff’s melee weapons of choice are a Bow and Arrows that he uses to attack enemies from far distances, Gonsod’s are a pair of twin Kamas that he uses for keeping a foe at a distance and as a grappling hook, Gyeong’s weapons are a pair of Shuko spikes that he uses as sharpened palm stabbing knives during hand-to-hand combat, Gareth’s signature weapons are Shurikens and Kunais with which he is able to cleverly determine what surfaces to bounce the weapons off of and strike an opponent, Gilbert uses a large Navaja knife in a traditional eskrima arnis style, and Gideon, combining his natural sports and martial arts skills, is able to remarkably master his Kusari Fundo chain. Like usual, Grandpa Gyeong was the one who provided Guto’s soldiers with these tools by building replicas of them. It might be due to the fact that he and his fellows are Griffons and have claws instead of hooves.
