Description

September 6, 1939
Alarms sound by an air base near Barking Creek as they rush to scramble Hurricanes and Spitfires into the air. The raider had spotted unidentified airplanes. The Squadron made up of three deferent Squads fly out towed Barking Creek. Not knowing what waited for them.
They fly over the creek to see planes. Enemy planes? no, something’s not right. Those are Royal Air Force planes! The Squad takes evasive maneuvers as two Hurricanes from the other on coming group try and shoot them down. The Squadron leader telling them not to fire back while being shot at.
One Spitfire and One Huracan goes down. The Huracan piolet dyeing by a 7.7mm bulet through the head before even crashing. By the time they had gotten radio contact with the other RAF squad it was to late. The first British air force death of ww2 had already happed and due to a friendly fire.
There was no enemy plane, it was a problem with the raider. That combined with the lack of communication between air fields and tradable connection between Squads let alone diffrint forces lead to the first death of the RAF.
