Thats… not even close to shock therapy. That’s not even close to what movies like to pretend shock therapy is. That’s just an executioner’s electric chair.
 
(Actual electroshock therapy is basically just having you on a hospital gurney, giving you something to bite down on so you don’t swallow your tongue or something, and using a controlled application to your head to trigger a seizure under carefully monitored and controlled conditions, which you come out of after something like 10 seconds, hopefully with a less severe case of whatever mental problem you required the procedure for.
