MYM and TYT are based in Canada, so the strikes are not affecting them.

Umm firstly I can assume the reason why MYM has nothing lined up for 2024 is because of the actors and writers strike. Can’t make a season if there is no one to write or voice act in it. Second I am not coping, just hoping. If it is true that this is MYM wrapping things up with Misty and such then I am perfectly find accepting that. I mean I guess people are fine with the childish nonsense of TYT which Hasbro “claimed” their target audience of little children liked. I guess seeing MLP being dragged down into immaturity again like past generations before G4 is fine. Oh well… sad days it is then.

Yeah, and it’s also just weird to assume that Hasbro would randomly put Make Your Mark on hiatus for a whole ass year, when they, again, said they wanna make Tell Your Tale the only G5 pony show and bragged about all of its success, and because the main storyline of Make Your Mark of Misty and Opaline is already wrapping up anyway. Seems like diehard G5 fans are just coping and/or are under the impression that this is a rumor with no basis that the G5 haters came up instead of an actual plan Hasbro have in mind.

It really wasn’t clickbait. The reason why people feared about its cancellation is because Hasbro didn’t say anything about the future of G5 for 2024 and beyond. And also mentioning that TYT will be “ONE & ONLY PONABLE CONTENT SERIES”. That’s why it brought up this big scare among a lot, especially G5 fans.

While we can’t say for certain Make Your Markis not getting cancelled, there’s no real evidence that it’s slated to be cancelled at the moment. It’s just a rumor brought on by clickbait and people who don’t like the show projecting.

To be fair, while the G4 designs work really well in their native Flash, they would look downright hideous in CGI. Especially with the mane cast all having the same basic body with only a few variations would look really cheap and noticeable. Heck, Equestria Girls got some flack when it first came out for the exact same thing.

I do really like that all the pony characters look different too. Also Lauren Fausts reasoning for “overworking” the animators seems silly. I mean after awhile they build up an asset library anyway to pull from which would shorten animating time since you already have a huge pool of resources to pull from. It’s their job after all… I know what I am hoping for a is longshot, but I really wished they continued with MYM. The characters just looked so much better. Especially Pipp and her fluffy feathers over Zipp and her streamlined and aerodynamic appearance. You simply cannot get that look in TYT. Even their hooves and bodies lose that “fluffy and furry” look. And lets not even get into the ears… My god ANG and MYM’s ear’s are just super adorable.

That was intentional. Boulder Media wanted to do “diversity” both in character shapes and away from the cookie cutter designs of G4.

I mean Tell your Tale is probably along the same lines as Friendship is magic was in terms of cheap animation. I don’t know if you have watched it, but my god is it not good. It’s just so childish and kiddie. There is almost no character growth or depth. It’s just an awful continuation of MLP from what was once a good fun, friendly and family show that actually pushed the narrative bounds of story telling and character growth with some pretty mature writing in a lot of instances. TYT does absolutely nothing of the sort, and only drags the brand down as a whole. Make your Mark in my opinion was the only real chance MLP had going forward keeping the theme that FiM did.

Now I will agree that in the first couple chapters it was very shallow in terms of writing. I Still cannot believe how they went from something so good like the Movie ANG, to what has so far transpired in MYM. Still… at least there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel as Chapter four started to seemingly turn things around and the writing was getting much better, and we have some pretty interesting things being setup. Now whether or not Hasbro wants to embrace this and try to right this ship, and turn things around is another thing that remains to be seen.

I really like that generation five (especially MYM in this case), really shows actual differences in pony biology. They actually look different instead of like G4 where every pony was a clone of each other and the only differences was mane type and color. Oh and their eyes as well! I am so happy they went with more natural looking eyes (kind of), over the overly huge eyes of G4. I never really like those eyes and the fact they took up like seventy percent of a characters face.

Have them star in a series of movies featuring encounters with the Universal monsters!
