Man, the Guyver right now could wipe out the EVA’s any day of the week with his power.

To be more specific, the EVAs are cyborg clones of the giant alien monsters that are the main threat in the series. They’re lobotomized during incubation to require a human pilot to make them function properly. Certain commands or circumstances can cause an EVA to fight and move automonously, but doing so makes them mutate and enter a berserk rampage until control is regained by central command.

Well…sort-of-robot. It’s more like an attempt to weaponize an otherworldly horror by adding mechanical parts, but the principle is the same. “The Beast” is used to refer to a state where the control mechanisms fail, and it automatically goes berserk on the nearest target. Highly dangerous, but far more effective in combat than letting a human control it.
