IDW FiM: Nightmare Rarity arc.
The Mane 6 each have a nightmare that they somehow fucked up beyond royally and their most important person (people) is kicking them out of their lives forever.
This is Twilight’s nightmare, later revisited in “The Crystal Empire” - an angry Celestia banishing Twilight for her failure.
Well, at least they’re not limited that much and they can imply quite a bit I’d imagine.
Both the show and the comics. One of the writers for the comic specifically said that they aren’t allowed to mention death in that context.

They’re only allowed to say things like “kill” and “die” if they aren’t referring to any characters.
