Artist’s Description
Been working on some world building for CR, more so the history of Equestria and the Crystal Empire! I’ll mostly be talking about Princess Amore’s side since we already know what happened with Princess Platinum and the other leaders of the Pegasus and Earth pony tribes.
If you don’t know, TLDR; Unicorns, Earth ponies, and Pegasi didn’t get a long and were fighting over resources. This caused Windigos to curse the land with a never ending blizzard that didn’t lift up until three tribes were able to get along and form what we now know as Equestria.
The younger sister, Princess Amore, in search of a new land and to save her people, went north and with her crystalmancer abilities, was able to provide shelter, warmth and protection from the elements and set up a settlement that will be later known as Crystal Empire in the years to come.
When the ponies of Unicornia were starving and freezing, the two princesses set off in different directions to find a new land to conquer in the name of Unicornia. Princess Amore was the younger of the two sisters but was well loved by the citizens of Unicornia since she had always shown them compassion and kindness, unlike most of the other nobles and royalty. When Amore set off to find new land, a handful unicorns followed suit, in hopes of finding a home of their own, away from the cruel King Bullion.
Travelling north, the blizzard grew worse and her party was forced to stop and take shelter. Using her powerful cystalmancy magic, the princess built shelters in moments and created warmth and light and protection for her followers. Over the couple of weeks, the light and warmth attracted other ponies from the Earth Pony and Pegasus tribes, also looking for resources and a land to call their own. Eventually the settlement grew in number and with the help of Amore’s crystals, the ponies there started to thrive.
It wasn’t long before word came that Platinum’s search was successful and King Bullion’s plan to steal the land from under the other tribe’s noses. Amore, with a heavy heart, knew that if she returned to Unicornia with her sister, things would never change. So the wayward princess renounced her title and with the ponies in her settlement, created a new country, that was later called the Crystal Empire.
For many years, the Empire lived in peace as the city grew and transformed the barren northern wasteland. Crops and game was plenty and the ponies flourished.. Until an unseen enemy seeped into the the city. It wasn’t noticeable at first, a few citizens complaining about night terrors and frequent nightmares, fits of anger and unnatural aggression…
