Nightmare Arc is good. I have just been calling it “New Nightmare Moon Arc,” but that hardly rolls of the tongue.

The #5-8 arc was never given an official title. (It also wasn’t done by Cook/Price). Fans are calling it either “The Return of Nightmare Moon” or “Nightmare (spoiler)”.

wow whoever asked that question about the story arcs having names has no clue about comics all comic story arcs have names .

I actually liked Just for Sidekicks because we finally got an episode where Spike spends time with the CMC.
 
The companion episode about the Equestria Games on the other hand felt stupid to me just because everyone except Rarity was being an idiot– it never occurred to them to ask Chickadee if she was on fact Ms. Harshwhinney? Also, how we Cloudsdale supposed to host the Equestria Games if they are a cloud city?

Too many fans put down “Just for Sidekicks” as a bad episode since nothing at the end of the day really happens, but half the time the show’s enjoyable because of the journey, not the destination. Slice of Life episodes should not be ignored.

I will give season 4 a chance, but I get the feeling that it’s best days are behind it. Season 3 wasn’t just disappointing– they did things that we are going to be stuck with for the rest of the series, and that is going to make new episodes harder to enjoy. On the bright side though, the comic is there to replace it if the show really had jumped the shark. It’s obviously not the same as it was when we are all hyped for each episode back in season 2 (the voices, animations and songs we a big part of the experience), but the characters and stories are still great, and that is what counts.

My faith in this world is shattered as I look at news article upon news article that shows nothing but death, decay, destroying, suffering, and sorrow. With all of that however, I do find some things to believe in still, even though I say I have nothing left to hope for or believe in.
 
I do have faith in the writers and their talents to give us episodes that will make us happy. Only problem maybe the tastes of the community where several people want those over-the-top, awesome, epic episodes all the time.

On paper, it should be easy to outdo season 3 as far as quality is concerned. However, little seems to have changed in the writing room from what we know, and station 4 by necessity has to build on top of season 3’s baggage. The comic does not have the show’s baggage attached to it, which means it has an advantage. It will take some very skillful writing for the show to catch back up, and I am not sure they can pull it off.

We must pray to the MLPFIM gods that S4 outdoes S1 and S2 combined… it’ll easily outdo S3.

We are crossing the threshold where the comic is better than the show currently is. We may have already crossed it.
