Yep and the saddest part is that hate filled people never just stop with just one persecuted group, they’ll eventually come for the gays, the lesbians, the bisexuals, then it’ll be people of color and so on and so forth.

Yeah, the United States is becoming extremely hostile towards LGBTQ+ individuals, especially the trans community. Based off what I’ve heard or have seen, the US is in a state of emergency due to all the anti-LGBTQ laws being passed as there are people fleeing from red states to safe havens or to Canada to find safety. I also believe that the US is in Stage 8 or 9 out of 10 for geno, as I’ve even seen videos of one individual in particular (can’t remember the name) saying on (live TV?) that trans people need to be eradicated from public spaces and so on. Like it’s getting absolutely terrifying, as I know friends of mine who are trans who are actually fleeing to safe havens or staying closeted until they are able to flee. It’s bad…I don’t live in the US but we have transphobic and LGBTQ phobic people here too, just not to the extent of the US.

You’re right, I remember now when they kind of tried to instrumentalize the Nashville tragedy to stigmatize trans folks. Isn’t Florida working in overdrive for producing weirdly outdated laws, these days? Most of my information about what’s happening in the US is filtered by Reddit, don’t know if there’s filter bubbles in action…

But being trans and/or progressive in some rural small town in the Bible Belt sure doesn’t sounds an enjoyable experience. I knew it, rare seems to be the countries in the world where it actually is, all of this is more of a large urban area thing, but did the quality of life of LGBT people really went that down in red-dominant areas?

Thing is, red states are increasingly passing laws that punish trans people for simply existing at an alarming rate, to make matters worse they are actively trying to overstep boundaries by creating laws that even effect LGBT friendly blue states and that’s not even mentioning the conservatives in congress who are trying to push this s**t at the federal level.

TL:DR the US is becoming increasingly hostile towards LGBT people, because a significant portion of the population doesn’t believe in separation of the church of state.

Isn’t being trans in the US actually super-easy? It seems like one of the most LGBT-friendly place in the world, they can access gender-affirming surgery as long as they have the money, most large compagnies are supporting them, they can go in public and display the flag without any fear of violent repression, and having an encounter with the police doesn’t usually implies risking their own life…

No idea, but I will be unapologetically loud for my trans pals as they deserve so much more then what they’re getting in places such as the US as it’s becoming scary. Trans folk are people too.

How long before the people who think the mere existence of trans people is a “political issue” come crawling out of their holes?
