It’s that time again! The Newbie Artist Training Grounds are back! I had a lot of fun participating in them the last couple of times, so I thought I’d give it another go this year! I may or may not be able to get to all of the prompts, depending on how things go, but I’ll do my best to. =)

Today’s prompt: Draw a pony standing / Draw a pony frozen in time.

When I saw this prompt, Lyra Heartstrings jumped to my mind, with her fandom-spread love of all things human. She’s already mastered the art of slouching like one, so it only stands to reason that she’d practice standing on two legs as well, lol. I went further with this idea, though, and decided to have her sharing her ‘technique’ with Tough Cookie, a fellow Canterlot pony (even though Lyra bounces around from Canterlot to Ponyville in-universe, lol). Cookie’s not used to supporting her chubby bulk on only two legs, but Lyra’s aptitude with it intrigued her to give it a try. I’d hate to think how Syntax or Bon Bon would react if they could see the two of them now. XD
