I’m the only one who is bothered by the fact that young Celestia’s hair is not completely pink as shown in the flashback of the first chapter and in the comics.

Going back through this comment section, it is disappointing (but unsurprising) to see the lack of media literacy on display in some comments

Finally saw Chapter 4 and I’m on the side that this whole flashback is more pure grade-A Opaline brand gaslighting to manipulate Misty. And even if the royal sisters did turn their backs on Opaline, I’m sure it was for a reason that Opaline wants to believe because apparently she’s had this arrogant entitledness even longer than Sunset Shimmer.
That’s my two cents on this.

Okay, so Luna and Celestia were in G5 and I am soooooo fucking late discovering this.

Mixed feels towards this…I don’t have the right to judge this for I last watched Gen5 a year ago… I don’t have a clue of what happened during the year…Need to catch up on the episodes to see what transpired…

Just…what happened? I’m oh so confused.

Well I’m glad they took notice of filly Luna’s s1 hairstyle,but they look…kinda off but it’s probably because me not being used to see them in 3d.

I personally really like filly Celestia and Luna in the G5 style! Also, filly Opaline is way, way cuter than she has any right being.

There’s probably an alicorn of Earth somewhere. From what I got, alicorns can be associated with astronomical objects, elements, feelings and other concepts, there’s probably lots of them somewhere else (if Skyros still exists).

I feel like banging my head on Twilights crystal castle wall…the Alicorn of…fire? Seriously writers? You had the perfect opportunity to make her Alicorn of EARTH, to make a Trinity of sun and moon. She could’ve been the Alicorn that controls the planet, capable of basically pulling an AANG avatar state and being a legitimate threat. Instead we get…an Alicorn who apparently can’t aim very well with cutting torch grade spell fire in a small room. Despite the fact aiming should literally mean LOOK at somepony while firing straight.

…is she vision impaired? I mean…she does stay in a dark room constantly.

Opaline’s traits you wrote sounds like a Slytherin.

Something happened in her past that she wanted to steal magic. Like Tirek, who wanted to do this to prove to his father. I agree with Opaline, her fire power is weak against day and night control.

She could have gotten rid of Misty after she got the dragon fire, but she didn’t. Also, she could have used someone else to achieve her goals, but she chose Misty. Another point: Opaline is lonely and she got out of loneliness when she found Misty. If he wanted to destroy her and get rid of Misty, he would have started sooner.

So all of this could’ve been avoided if Celestia and Luna just said “Hi” to Opaline when they were kids. Thanks you two, you ruined everything!

Luna: Moon/Dreams/Night
Cadence: Love/Lust/Emotions
Twilight: Friendship/Logic/Intelligence

Each of the princesses have their own place in the balance. So here’s my suggestion on Opaline.
Opaline: Arrogance/Ambition/Self Importance.

I hope you are joking. Opaline couldn’t care less about Misty’s well being. Even after getting her powers back she said she wouldn’t give Misty a cutie mark ’cause she ‘un-earned’ a cutie mark by getting caught by the Mane Five. She is a manipulative bitch. She just kept Misty because she was weak and still needed her to do things for her. Soon Misty will be useless to her. Opaline is not her mother. She is her master. Did you forget that she would kill Sparky after being done with him? She is evil. Once she finds out Misty betrayed her, she will do worse than some punishment.

Can someone please add a version of this with audio? For context. The way that is being shown here makes Celestia and Luna look even more like jerks.

The intriguing thing about opaline is that they call her “evil” and yet she did save misty. Sure, she’s selfish and expects misty to do whatever she says, but from the final episode, opaline is trying to get misty excited that she shell finally have her cutie mark (which she gets anyway) but still, there is something a bit more to her.

Opaline is a liar, and her memories of this event are thousands of years old. Who knows.

I know, right? Well… Young Celestia might actually have been a tiny, tiny bit condescending to young Opaline, depending on which G4 supplementary material we take as canon, but I don’t think young Luna would be mean (now I sound like her obsessive fans, even though I like the Royal Sisters equally). Either way, Opaline is not a victim at all. She is nothing more than a narcissistic, manipulative, power-hungry mother figure in the form of a magical pony.
