That’s honestly clever on Hasbro’s part. And with YouTube’s stupidity literally both fan and official channels would have their comments deleted so it’s easier to trick everyone into thinking both are the same person. If Hasbro is really exploiting YouTube algorithm like that, I seriously applaud them.

Obviously it’s way too clumsy to trick any of us, but then, remember, we’re not the target audience for MLP - little kids are, and I could see them being fooled way easier by it. I think diverting even a few views away from the fan account helps out with the algorithm, helps out with the ad money, helps the statistics to look more impressive to the investors, etc. And it has the bonus of not pissing people off like throwing copyright claims at the fan account would (instead, I think we’re just kind of laughing and rolling our eyes - or at least, I am).

In that way, it could also be seen as a guerrilla marketing tactic.

But back to the topic of the image - this is very obviously an official account, unless Hasbro has actually pushed back TYT’s release to Saturdays, but for the past couple releases, they’ve allowed a fan account to leak the episode 2 days early. I can’t even begin to imagine the universe where that’s even remotely realistic.

They’re both official - something something algorithm, something something little kids, something something ad revenue, etc.

I just find them more confusing on which one is the official channel or not

Yeah, it looks like an official channel, but why would Hasbro name it after a fan uploader? Maybe they just don’t care about that, as weird as it sounds.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that that’s how you can tell that Letupita channel was started by Hasbro, probably to divert some of the traffic from the actual fan account Letupita725HD

That’s a definite possibility

The English version of TYT gets uploaded on this channel before the main MLP channel so I’m assuming it’s a legit Hasbro channel.
