This comic has plenty of inside jokes and cameos considering how much freedom the makers have over it. It is nice to see Mando got a cameo but it isn’t a sign that the end of the world is at the hand…

Best I know, it is simply they are good friends and have done several projects together. Flirting perhaps but outside of their pony OCs (which are shipped), wouldn’t be a couple.

Some dude,fan of the show,Brony musician,is a nice Mandolin player who became famous in the fandom using his connections with the Crebers,can’t handle trolling and gets mad a lot (though he’s getting better lately),he’s a bit tactless for certain things.
 
/mlp/ being the kind of people they are,spread false rumors about him being a pedophile and having a relationship with Michelle Creber when they got work he was working with her on some songs.
 
Eventually,they forgot about it,until Mando discovered months later it and started the drama,which only served to ignite the fire and make things worse.
 
Personally,I think his earlier stuff was better and I’m ok with him appearing in the comics.

He is a popular fan musician. He’s done a lot of things with Michelle Creber (voice for Apple Bloom) on her singing side. He’s also become good friends with storyboardist Sisby (aka Wild Fire)
 
Unfortunately, parts of the fandom see the relationship of a grown young adult male and a pre-teen girl as the worst possible thing, and thus they immediately assume he’s a pedo. Which everyone (including Michelle and her family) have tried to refute. But like those that rub against the grain of /mlp/ (eg like Purple Tinker) they get the worse reputation for doing nothing wrong.
