Gorgonies are an unique species of equinox, there are two kinds of gorgonies, earth gorgonies and unicorn gorgonies, They all have 3 eyes, when they are young (see Perish Chime) their eyes can’t turn living beings into stone, this power is achieved once they are adults (see Stone), a gorgony doesn’t get blind when it grows up, but since some of them live in other towns where are “normal” ponies they have to bend their eyes to prevent any awkward situation if they turn an innocent pony into stone. They can train their snakes to act like their eyes, so they can see even with their eyes bended. Gorgonies are immune to their own powers, so a gorgony can’t turn another gorgony into stone.

Pure-blooded gorgonies are very agressive, Stone and her sister, Perish Chime are half gorgonies, half unicorn.

Also, they live in the wastelands of Equinox, thousands of years ago, gorgonies and the normal ponies were at war.
