I find it awfully interesting that “multiple persons” suddenly took an interest in a post I wrote days ago in a dead thread, and only after I told a background pony to shove it. And if the spinoff is greenlighted, It maybe a good series on it’s own.
 
Besides, I think the designs for this universe are the first ones we saw (no wings/horns/ears) if Lunchlady Smith is any idication. Also, this is a different universe, where things are, and are not the same. (play bioshock infinite. You’ll understand)

I think that’s why so many aren’t enthralled with the idea. TV execs never allow adventures in the actually interesting parts of the world. It’s always some boring dreadfully lifeless city-state like New York, Manhattan, Los Angeles, etc.  
You never see magical creatures pop out in a city like Prague, Petersburg, Erding, Viljandi, etc…Nope, always miles and miles of samey suburban McMansions or slate-grey skyscrapers. Big City is the cartoon answer to gaming’s deserts and caves and REALITY IS BROWN.

I figured they were on an actual mission to teach the human world, or some subset of it, about friendship. I guess that would have led to undesired social subtexts, though.

Oh here we go again! Bboifatz, I am really getting SICK AND TIRED of your pessimistic BULLSHIT. You don’t want to read the book? Fine. You don’t want to watch the fourth season? Fine. But don’t try to ruin it for everyone else. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion but if you keep doing what C.R. did, we’re going to see your opinions as less of what you want to see them as, and more of just whining and complaining as opposed to giving it a try and trying to keep others from doing so.

True. I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t see what the appeal was at first. However, the reason why everyone is so apprehensive is because this is like, … (if the plot of the book is quite similar to the plot of the show) something that should be done for maybe one episode. If I’m not mistaken, there was one special issue of the Sonic the Hedgehog comics that dealt with him coming to the real world. A similar thing happened in one episode of Darkwing Duck, if I recall correctly.
 
It usually works the other way when it comes to shows: instead of travelling to a human world, (usually human) characters travel to a fantasy world. Such as in the introduction to the animated series based on Super Mario Bros. 3, the opening to Dungeons & Dragons (1983-85), and (really fuzzy/hazy on this one) Adventures in Wonderland live action series.
