Well In Germany that would be a Problem. I remember the Woodstock Slappy Episode from Animaniacs (in German) and they kinda ruined the Scene.
I so want someone to have Twilight use that as a cover name in a story.
Rosie Tarte sounds awesome! In Spanish it would be Pay Rosita (Pay pronounced ‘Pie’)
I do not watch the French dub but I know that they have left the characters’ names untranslated. A good decision on its own. I could imagine Rarity being Rareté or Pinkie Pie being Rosie Tarte, it could work, but not Rainbow Dash being Course Arc-en-ciel or Twilight Sparkle being Scintillement Crépusculaire, it is just too long and ugly. For this scene, however, it will certainly be a problem.

That be Cathy Weseluck. She did Flitter’s voice, which sounds a lot like Butters.
The joke should work in whatever language, really. It’s not like regular wordplay/punning so much as the fact that the ponies are named after concepts or phrases.
I wonder how other language dubs will handle this scene.
