The middle of three sisters from Baltimare, Ruby at a young age took an interest in journalism and wanted to become a reporter. Once she graduated from school she applied to a journalism school and Canterlot and despite a rough start at first passed her classes and got her degree. Unfortunately, the only newspaper with any openings was the “Daily Gazette” which was in the small town of Ponyville. Though not thrilled about having to take the train back and forth between her home and place of work she took the job and prepared for her first assignment, covering the Summer Sun Celebration.

Let’s just say that particular Summer Sun Celebration ended up being one no one in Equestria would ever forget😉

Once the dust had settled from the world alternating events of those few days, Ruby interviewed as many eyewitnesses and as she could as well as a few of those involved. Her reporting won her praise from not only her family but also her editors and the locals. Fully confident in her work Ruby decided to take the job and soon moved to Ponyville full time in order to be closer to her work, though she still takes the train to Balitmare to visit her mother and sisters. In time she met a local painter by the name of Nylon Van Hoof with whom she gradually developed a relationship. The two of them got married a year and a half after they started dating and are currently preparing for the arrival of their twin foals.

Ruby has a pink watch that was a gift from her younger sister Raspberry that she wears on her left front leg. She typically wears a leopard printed hairband in her mane but sometimes styles it in a ponytail. The pearl necklace is a family heirloom passed down from her great-grandmother and is only worn for special occasions. Ruby is easy going and a good conversationalist which helps in her job as a reporter.
