To be honest I feel like Princess Luna would be a lot more into progressive rock than Starlight and Trixie, particularly the darker prog bands like King Crimson, VDGG, and Pink Floyd. I honestly don’t see any other ponies listening to prog rock (except maybe Octavia and Coloratura and Twilight, but they wouldn’t really be into it like me).

I’m just going by her canon personality in the show and I personally don’t think she would be into that kind of music since like I said, she’s a traveling performer who’s probably been exposed to a lot of 50’s music in her lifetime thanks to her father. If there’s a character who would most likely he into power metal and prog rock, then that would be her hubby Starlight if we take her moody and goth childhood as any indication.

I could see Trixie into that kind of music. I imagine Trixie listening to whatever makes her feel great and powerful, probably epic, uplifting music like power metal and some progressive rock.
