DM: To be fair, a reactive counterspell enchantment would seem inert until it’s triggered.
Discord GM: Wait, hold on.
DM: Yes…?
Discord: If this is your secret weakness, why did you hold onto it for 1000 years?
Tirek: …So I could keep an eye on it, of course.
Discord: Uh-huh?
Tirek: If I had thrown it away 1000 years ago, the ponies could have retrieved it. If I had shattered it into a dozen pieces, they could have reforged it. Keeping it on me was the safest choice.
Discord: I suppose that is the problem with eternity, isn’t it? Keeping inventory of all the things that can come back to bite you.
Tirek: Indeed…
