“Hello, lovely people. Blessings to all of you. Welcome back to my channel.”
Tree Hugger, the dreadlocked young lady with a drowsy demeanor, smiled towards the camera as she held up a peace sign. Glancing over from the side, Fluttershy decided to do the same.
Dropping her hand back down, Tree continued on with her introduction. “As you may have noticed, I’m actually not in my apartment today. My roommate was, like, being a total bummer and it would’ve totally thrown off the vibes. So that’s why I’m here with my new friend, Fluttershy.”
“Um… Hi, everyone,” the camera-shy girl greeted, awkwardly giving a quick wave after realizing she was still holding her peace sign up. “My name is Fluttershy… as Tree Hugger already mentioned, obviously.” She blushed, still trying to work past her nerves.
“Yeah, we met at the community college. We, like, bumped into each other on the way to our classes.”
“Hehe, yeah. Literally,” Fluttershy remarked before feeling herself cringe at the daunting memory. Despite having been several months since that mishap, it stayed quite fresh in her mind. “It was pretty embarrassing, if I’m being honest,” she mentioned, hoping to steer the conversation elsewhere.
“Yeah. It was, like, a total trip,” Tree began to explain, blissfully aware of her host’s clear discomfort. “I remember going up a staircase when I suddenly felt like I got hit by something huge, dude. Almost like a giant water balloon, or a big squishy beanbag chair. Next thing I knew, I was at the bottom of the stairs, looking up and seeing this massive girl standing at the top. Like seriously, dude,” Tree chuckled, looking towards Fluttershy and elbowing her side. “It was, like, super freaky and surreal how enormous you looked.”
Fluttershy smiled half-heartedly, looking away a but as she let her hair fall over her blushing face. “Yeah, that’s me,” she shrugged, now feeling her nerves getting the best of her.
Tree paused for a moment, her own smile starting to fade as she looked back at the camera. “But it was all chill. I was, like, totally crossfaded when it happened anyway. So I barely remember anything.” Suddenly leaning in close to Fluttershy, Tree gave her a reassuring smile. “I can cut that part out if it didn’t, like, vibe with you. It’s, like, totally okay.”
Fluttershy looked up, surprised but relieved to hear that. “Thanks,” she smiled back.
Sitting herself back up, Tree carried on with the video. “Anyway, I made a new friend that day and she is like the total embodiment of kindness.”
“Well, that’s very kind of you to say,” Fluttershy replied happily, brushing her hair out of her face.
“Oh, yeah. And she also has, like, the best taste in vegetarian food,” Tree quickly added, reaching her hand out in excitement and grabbing Fluttershy’s bulky shoulder.
Fluttershy blushed again, laughing along this time rather shying away. “Well, glad you’ve been liking it. I’m just always happy to share my favorite recipes.”
“But we can, like, totally talk about that another time,” Tree said, wavering the conversation off as she began to switch to a new topic. “What are we doing for today’s video, Fluttershy?”
Feeling a lot more free from her anxieties, Fluttershy took a deep breathe and cleared her throat as she began to address the camera. “I’m glad you asked, Tree, because we’re actually going to talk about different ways that you can communicate with your animal friends, and how you can build a lasting trust with them…”
