I never had an issue with alicorn Twilight. I’ve taken some time to have discussions with those still uncomfortable with the idea, though. It seems that some folks just don’t know how to deal with it, actually.
 
This is going to sound really weird, but some folks could use some compassion, patience and empathy. None of the folks I’ve spoken with seem happy with their situation at all.
 
I think some folks just at least want others to understand, even if they still disagree. I totally get that.

Meh I’m ok with alicorn twilight but I have a small problem with the entire Princess thing. Realistically you can’t go from a librarian to a princess in five seconds and expect to know everything about being one. Also the responsibilities of one are very high seeing as the are the ruling power in Equestria.

But op, I like both Sparkles.

Starswirl didn’t become an alicorn because he couldn’t finish the spell because he didn’t understand friendship.
 
Pinkie Pie didn’t become an alicorn because she hasn’t done anything worthy of becoming one. However, it’s quite possible that she and the rest of the Mane 6 could become alicorns in the future.
 
Derpy didn’t become an alicorn because she’s a background character who is nameless, barely has any lines, and has no personality. Based on her fandom personality, Derpy would simply be way too stupid and clumsy to be an alicorn. She’d probably turn everything on the planet into muffins and then wouldn’t be aware of what she did while saying, “I just don’t know what went wrong.”

Isn´t that kinda impossible given that the magic which transformed Twi came from her own heart and not Celestia´s horn?  
I mean if Tia could make anypony into an alicorn anytime she wants and remake said transformation then what`? Why didn´t she made Starswirl an alicorn or Pinkie or I don´t know, Derpy?
 
No, i still go with alicorn is something you have to achieve yourself, but you can´t do so unless you learn the lessons of friendship and got great friends who lead you their support/magic to make this possible. All Twi did was trigger the spell but it was the magic from her friends elements aka their virtues/magic which made her land in that magical realm thingie where Celestia explained everything and Twi then transformed into an alicorn.  
I hope we get to talk about said realm in the next season though i guess they gonna drop it under the table. <.<

…Now I’m hoping there’s just some unexpected monster in EQG, like with that episode.

I have no problem with Alicorn Twilight, I just didn’t like the pacing of the finale episode, or that Celestia did that without Twilight knowing first. I mean, shouldn’t transforming into an alicorn princess be something she prepared herself for ahead of time? Buuut, I digress, I just want to see what Season 4 has to offer! =P
