Peripheral neuropathy is a symptom. Talk to your doctor, the sooner the better. Once it starts it can be hard to reverse it, and once you’re diabetic you’re diabetic for life. I still have issues with my feet and I never actually became diabetic.
She has diabetic neuropathy and didn’t notice walking on broken glass until she actually looked at her hoof. Presumably this is what did enough damage to require her to get a cybernetic replacement.
