Description

– <crackle> Starless. Starless!
Voice… Starless Tundra recognized him immediately. Uneven, ragged. A baritone with hoarseness, with anguish, soaked with unhealthy enthusiasm. It sounds like chocolate and barbed wire, otherwise you can’t describe it.
The light in the elevator lit up again - deep orange, emergency. The cab jerked, going down faster; with the whistle and squeak of brakes, sparks and the stench of burnt rubber fly through the ventilation grilles to you.
– STARLESS!
The cabin is shaking. Meg turns her head around, trying to figure out what’s going on. One of the grilles was torn off, providing access to the roof of the elevator… if it makes any sense at all: the damn cab is falling, and only the brakes are holding it back.
– STARLESS! Finally! YOU’VE FINALLY COME FOR ME! YOU FINALLY REMEMBERED!

– OH, GLORY TO ALL THAT IS BEAUTIFUL IN THE WORLD, YOU ARE ALIVE!
Distorted laughter is knocked out of the overstretched speaker with a creak and howl of the cabin. You are swaying from side to side, the light is flickering.
The smell of burning seeps into you. The speaker, crackling from interruptions, continues with manic zeal.
– Oh, the great darkness… Oh, how long I’ve been waiting. Ten years… ten years of loneliness. Wandering. Oh, how many… how many I had to kill for you. How long I’ve been waiting. How so… long.

– Light… there is light here. Stars… still burning. It will all be over soon. You’re finally here. You’ll do it. We’ll do it.

– …Together.
The doors opened with a tear, allowing you to enter the hall of Stable 67. There is no light, except for the red emergency lights…
…and monitors.
There are a dozen of them here. They frame the passage further unevenly, like a growth of mechanical flowers. The same eye looks straight into your soul, twitching continuously. Black fragments in it dissect the fabric, bloody tears pour onto the lower eyelid.

– Starless. Starless. Oh, I wish I could hear you. What a pity that I can only contemplate. To contemplate… the best thing that happened in my life. Oh, my daughter, my darling… my creation. Best… creation.
Nervous laughter from the speakers was accompanied by a tremor of the eyes.
