There are two things that would factor into this:

Chrysalis kidnapped the newborn foal; and
Spike is still in control and is going through Tranquil Fury.

Added to the second part is that he’s getting Flurry Heart out of the blast radius of the Orbital Friendship Cannon powered by the family and friends of the Sparkle Family.
