Spike G4 is the better version than the others from previous generations.
Sparky Sparkeroni is going to be the classic mindless baby who is all about making life difficult for others, which may be fine for an episode, but if that’s the case all the time it just gets boring.
At least Spike, being more mature, was a character who could do more things and have bigger roles in a story.
As someone who watched MYM, Sparky does actually show some intelligence despite being literally a baby. One episode he literally trolled Misty with traps.

He’s rather jealous the baby was born with wings, wile Spike himself did not started that way.
Ancestors will be jealous meeting their descendants’ lives.
Also, Spike also was just a little younger than his “mommy mane 6” lol, however, that made his d*** so confused, at least Sparky don’t have to feel like that.

Ah, I said ‘defend’, not ‘fight for.’ Of course Hitch wouldn’t physically fight Spike. I doubt he’d physically fight anyone unless if it’s clear self-defense or if he’s incredibly angered. Hitch is a good, moralistic boy, after all.

Spike had been like a sick character at one point… But then again he could still be loved. Overall despite how many painful times he went through…
Sparky had no sickening matter as he is really young and cute and healthy… plus he don’t have to go through molting which is a plus…
Overall I think there would be a balance of how dragons should work as well.

Just rehashing g4
A young dragon present in the cast is not at all something that started with G4. Even if we’re not counting G3 Spike’s relatively short tenure, G4 Spike is a pretty obvious “rehash” of G1 Spike, right down to the color scheme.
Every Generation has had a dragon.
