Honestly, Zipp having a folding phone makes sense for this reason: in the real world folding phones are enormously expensive, and they aren’t used by all that many people. However Zipp is a princess, meaning she is far more wealthy than the ordinary pony. She would be able to get more expensive tech like folding phones more easily as a result of that (though I don’t think Zipp cares about the technology behind her folding phone all that much-to her it’s just another phone, one of many in Zephyr Heights).
