In my eyes, this guy is THE best Doctor there ever was.
He’s not, it was confirmed by the BBC (they can’t lie about this sort of thing) that he won’t take part in the 50th. While he did meet with Moffat a couple of times, and did consider it, he ultimately decided to not take part.
Which is a shame, overall his Doctor has the least exposure; while McGann only had the movie, Eccleston only has a handful of comics and books, and there haven’t been any new ones since he left.
I would loved to see him at least once more.
I don’t think you realize how films are made.
Thor 2 will have already shot all of its footage - it will be in post production now, movies tend to be complete for months before they are released as well.
Its not uncommon for a movie to take 6months to a year in post production alone.
Given how long it is till it is released filming must have been completed by now. Just a guess but this proves me right: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thor:_The_Dark_World#Filming
Too bad Eccleston’s playing Malekith in Thor 2, that flick’s still in production so he probably won’t make an appearance in the anniversary episode.
Too bad it didn’t go longer.
