She is the fifth clinician: in addition to holding the standard title of DDS, like me, she is also a certified DON, Doctor of Oral Nutrition, and the head of that department within the EDC. Instituting strict mouth-friendly diets for everypony, developing recipes that include the highest quantities of teeth-strengthening nutrients as possible while excluding all substances that are detrimental to tooth health, and serving the chief architect of one of the Clinic’s most important projects- completely destroying every last trace of the disgusting, tooth-rotting sugar scourge, and abolishing its existence and memory from Equestria forever. She hates sugar with every fiber of her being, and remembers this always being true. No recollections of baking or selling cakes linger within her purified mind, except in the deepest realms of the subconscious.
(I have yet to decide much about how she was converted, but I will eventually!)

No, but considering that she’s the only character ever associated with dentistry anything, even if just by the fans, I thought that she could be some kind of mascot under the “Colgate” name

The free will part is mostly true, but I can assure you that she definitely did not lose her soul! The Clinic is not not a soulless place, it is a vibrant world of joy and pleasure and love. We all keep much of our original, pre-conversion personalities… well, almost all of us, I should say. But yes, Doctor Pi is the fun and bubbly mare she always was, just with some… major adjustments.
