I guess they’re a way bigger site so they have to have a more hands-off-the-community approach where they just set hard rules and abide by them even when it doesn’t work on a case-by-case basis. Derpibooru’s always been in that kind of sweet spot where there’s enough people it’s not niche, but no so many people it’s mainstream, so we take for granted that this site can actually listen to what the community wants instead of doing the Reddit Powermod approach XD

He’s male. E621 has a “tag what you see” policy that, if I understand correctly, prioritizes what appears to be in any one image over what the creator of the image says, what canon says, or even other pictures in that direct series of images. So their tagging is all over the place and really isn’t that reliable :P
