Well this whole comic has always been more of the creator’s mouthpiece to express their feeling and thoughts toward characters and the finale. Celestia and Luna would rather immediately go for murder and scold Twilight instead of putting the concern for her first. Twilight making so many long speeches that sound basically like what the author wanted to say instead. Ultimately how Twilight wants to deal with things is basically how the author wants to deal with things. They wanted Discord to stay away from the whole thing and we can only see as the comic continues that way. And honestly I think Discord still gets a better treatment of being ignored than having his character completely destroyed like Celestia and Luna, even though the canon has already done that to him.

And I actually don’t think it’s weird for Twilight to do something like this. Discord has shown time and time again he just doesn’t learn anything, so of course Twilight being the kind of mare that’s always 3 steps ahead prepared, making checklists for checklist, would be prepared something to prevent Discord’s intervention. Also, I guess removing his powers isn’t the most “friendly” thing to do even though I fully support that method. Who knows, maybe Twilight is giving Discord his very own “redemption process” like she is gonna do with the three villains and she actually believes he’ll learn something from doing chores on a dimensional to-do list. She just doesn’t want him to interact with the other villains because of his own safety. All three of them would immediately attack him if he ever show up after all, considering the mere mention of his name is enough to make them open fire. While Starlight only has Chrysalis to worry about so she doesn’t have the risk of being attacked too much. It could very well be Twilight’s contingency plan to both make sure nothing goes wrong and keep Discord safe.

I’m not necessarily accusing Twilight of being OOC for doing something in regards to him, I’m saying that more because of her surety in the vote of no confidence on “I’m sure he’s not gonna learn anything, but I’ll do it anyway in exactly this way instead of something more potentially constructive.” I outright said that “temporary power removal” would be a better approach if she actually thinks that way as well, if she felt like it would be a better way for him to learn something.

I haven’t excused Discord, I just don’t think this is a good portrayal of Twilight’s character, since she comes across as more of a vehicle for the author’s desires than it actually being fitting, and that’s been a problem since the core premise involved her going “I can’t go on if I ‘failed,’” contriving it to where she must do exactly what she did, and the narrative gave her easy outs for basically getting the likes of Sombra and the Storm King killed (albeit the latter was more of a “didn’t catch,” in fairness), because the other side cannot make good points against her, and have to kneel to her very shortly thereafter.

Of course Twilight is now accused of being OOC because she is trying to keep the same thing that happened before from happening again, being cautious that her effort does not go in vain. Discord really does have a squad of people excusing him and that’s why he could get away with things for so long.

Trust Twilight to make a list that could test the structural integrity of a building. I wonder if there’s any parchment left in Equestria?

Only a list? That is WAYYY less than he deserves but we take what we can.

agree, the author is taking their negative feelings of discord and putting on twilight, as a writer u put your personal feelings aside and write a good story, discord gets on twilight’s nerves but if someone actually thinks she hates him they should rewatch the series.

While it makes sense to keep discord busy and to do task to more of make up.
The idea that Twilight could threaten discord is silly and she wouldn’t even need to. Discord said that “I’m so sorry it made so much sense in my head, twilight defeats her worse enemies and is filled with confidence, I truly did have the best intentions, I swear I’ll make it up to you” therefore he would do it without needing to be threatened. He only messed with the trio to help twilight who is now showing absolutely no sympathy for him trying to be a good friend, while giving the trio all the sympathy in the world while they actually had ill-intent. This applies she pretends to forgive discord while secretly talking bad about him behind his back.

In universe, every creature would hates his guts. It’s more out of character that they’ll forgive anyone so easily.

The part that puts this in “OOC” territory (it’s at least “iffy”) is the fact Twilight is saying not only must he do things to “be fully forgiven,” but that she’d outright say “I doubt he’ll learn anything.” It feels, just like that multi page rant in response to the Princesses being portrayed as unsympathetic as possible, more like something the author is saying themselves through Twilight, as opposed to something she’d say.

If she even said “with any luck he’ll learn something” it would be more fitting. If you’re tacitly admitting you feel it’s next to pointless, then you’re wasting your time per your own admission, instead of, say, temporarily taking his powers so he can with any luck empathize with others more easily, pull a Deja Q on him for a good bit, get a bit of a better perspective.

Twilight must have really given Discord the old Canterlot voice. I’m sure she knows enough to keep an eye on him somehow.

Every other task on Discord’s list must be to NOT interact with the three^^

Not sure if Starlight will be Chrysalis mentor. If so, then expect some hilarious shenanigans.

I mean, the over all plot points here are valid to bring up, but the author really could do with making it more succinct. Page after page of paragraphs is a hard sell in a comic, an illustrated medium. Reading Twilight talking isn’t as pleasant as hearing he talk so much.
