They are not a romantic couple in the story. The reason she’s looking so awkward is he accidentally embarrassed her earlier and she’s getting even. She doesn’t really want to harm him, but she does want payback. Besides which, this thing is a little under a year old, and I didn’t have references for all of it.
Why would anyone upload this thing, anyway? It was just a snapshot of the fanfic that makes no sense out of context.
The expression on her was taken from her exaggerated squee/smile in ‘Cutie Pox’. This actually portrays a scene in the story where she just got the boy into a pretty painful situation and she’s feeling sort of bad about it, but still laughing.
I’m just glad no one linked this thing when the OC was purple and red. That would have been really embarrassing.
