I don’t know what is more absurd, your whole comment on Spike being bullied by ponies or the fact that you thought we wouldn’t get dragons in G5 when it is the same universe. What did you expect? This isn’t a reboot. Of course there will be dragons. There is no way in hell the writers would kill them all.

Had he been raised a proper dragon he would never have been bullied, and even if he was, it would have been no different than anyone eles. Better to be with your own kind then with ones who are not even the same species.

This has the makings of a disaster already. Better he be with his own kind.

tbh, not all dragons respected Spike well. I just, dunno, I can’t see anyone being disrespected by simply being around other creatures, or not being always written well (which depends on tastes?), or not having enough merch. Just having a different creature/any character is nice enough with me, haha.

Ummm have you paid attention to this franchise’s toys? It’s all pony, I mean it’s in the name. Adding a dragon character just means more useless character shenanigans, and it does not matter. We already have Hitch as our male character and he did a far better job convincing males to be part of the pony circle than Spike did. Unless, this is a one time character who returns to his own kind at the end, then I support it, better that he be with creatures that won’t abuse him or actually understand him then with creatures who are not his kind. I always felt Spike was out of place, and I hopped G5 corrected that by not having one, hopefully they still do and this is just a one time character.

The point is, it ruins the story of overcoming prejudice if they are prejudice to other creatures and what do we call that children?

More variety in toys, at least? Kids love fantasy creatures. Plus, each generation of MLP had a dragon (G3 had two iirc, one for main generation - blue Spike, and another for Twinkle Wish Adventure - Whimsey Weatherbe, sort of ‘antagonist’, an obstacle and someone to show moral lessons with; G1 had even more - even if only one was in animated media, as much as I know, others were toys + in the comics/books), yes, G2 too (and their colour scheme looked strangely way too similar to this one’s…). The other point is that franchise focuses on ponies mainly and started with them, thus ‘My Little Pony’, still, it might have other species in it and still stay fun :) (it’s not the only example, e.g. Gummi Bears had a plenty of other creatures to add to stories, and Filly + Filly Funtasia shows animals who aren’t horses sometimes, as well).

What is the point? I mean the show is about ponies not creatures, it kinda defeats the purpose of defeating prejudice if they are not gonna treat other sapient creatures as equals. At least with a new generation the plot made sense and was simple.
