Well guys, it’s finally time to reveal a character for Flurry Heart’s Story I’ve mentioned before but never got around to designing till recently: Nightwatch!

Yes, this is the guy who is Buttercream’s adoptive brother. He found her egg in the forest when he was a kid one day, hatched it with his magic, and took her home where she grew up with his parents much like we saw with Spike in Twilight’s family. Nightwatch (or Nighty for short) is an accomplished magic user and also very smart. He was one of the few kids in his town that actually knew that Nightmare Moon was Princess Luna, and unlike all the other children who were scared of her, he had faith that she would be restored to her normal self one day. More info to come on this later, but he would one day find himself even getting some mentorship from Luna behind the scenes.

Now you may notice I’ve only shown 2 pics of him through time whereas Butter had 3. Well much like we see with Twilight and Spike right now in my story, he’s about the same age as Twi and is a taller pony too, but I’m not ready to show that look for him just yet. For right now, here’s his colt and adult designs.

Also, for anyone wondering, I have an episode that introduces Buttercream (in the flesh, not just as a video game character like in Apple Family Memories), but Nighty and his parents will appear in the story later. For now, get ready to see more art of them in the near future, and I might even make a little prequel story about how Nighty found Butter someday, but his role to play in the story comes later.
