Spike might not get much notice in Canterlot. But in the Crystal Empire, he’s everyone’s hero. Though Princess Cadance might think he’s getting a little too playful.
(I knew that teenage dragons often have growth spurts – but this would make Ember’s father turn pale.)

What better way to show his power – than to compare a city against one of the tiniest parts of a dragon’s body?
Safe to say, he loves to keep his tiny kingdom safe and warm. And if something does go wrong, the magic of cartoons will reverse the damage.
I think we should call this kind of protection the “toes defense”. XD
I really love how the two pictures go together. It feels kind of like poetic justice that Spike should be able to guard the Crystal Empire and have fun doing so.

That’s high praise for a drawing that’s only half-finished. (A proper inking would have much more detail.)
