Let me just point out how much sense it makes when it picks up in the 5th row - obviously, they wouldn’t get their destinies like they did because Dash was busy something else during Cutie Mark Chronicles, too.
 
And while I really do not want to derail this great comic with my theorizing: I strongly suspect that a comic about Dash would be about him falling instead of Fluttershy during the race. (Perhaps breaking something too?) thus hijacking her fate. And with that, all of the alternate memories would make up their own coherent alternate timeline.
 
(Which may not be what the artist wants/the best thing to write, it’s just interesting.)
