What you imply happens a lot in fimfiction. Fluttershy is no scientist but she is still portrayed as one in the avengers fimfics. Rainbow dash isn’t noble like Thor yet she is drawn as his character. Writers keep twisting their personalities about to fit the story so it will work. By the way I think pinkamena is better suited for Kenji than pinkie.

The charactes aren’t matched up well. Fluttershy’s no scientist, Rarity is too prim and proper to be a Gin-Rei equivalent, Rainbow lacks Taisou’s wisdom and drinking habits, Pinkie Pie is nothing like the cynical immortal Kenji Murasame, and Applejack lacks Tetsugyuu’s inner child.

Twilight as Issei sorta works. Celestia kinda works too, but the Yellow Emperor’s a better analogue for her.
