Thank Moondancer for the invaluable information, and ask if she wants to go to the spa with us.
You recognize the wisdom in Moondancer’s theory, and thank her for sharing her knowledge of magic with you. It might have saved you from certain embarrassment later on.
Moondancer: “Oh, it’s nothing. I sometimes forget that not everypony’s been to magic school.”
Moonflower: “Oooh, magic school! Does that mean you’re a super high level unicorn?”
Moondancer: “I wouldn’t say that. I mean, I might have spent more time studying magic than the average unicorn, but just because I know how certain spells work doesn’t mean that I have the power or skill to actually cast any of them myself.”
Apple Basket: “Makes sense to me. Do you study anythin’ besides magic?”
Moondancer: “Sure, I’ve read books on just about everything; history, biology, physics, agriculture, technology… friendship… you name it.”
You remark that she does indeed sound well-read. That said, you ask Moondancer if there’s anything she likes to do aside from studying.
Moondancer: “I mostly try to spend time with my friends. We play games together, go places every once in a while, that sorta thing.”
You nod, and speaking of going places with friends, you ask the unicorn if she’s ever been to a place called the Day Dream Spa before.
Moondancer: “I have. My sister took me there once for my birthday.”
Moonflower: “Ooh, what’s it like?”
Moondancer: “Expensive. Other than that, it’s like a regular spa with private chambers, and a few layers of illusion magic on top.”
Apple Basket: “You’re not makin’ it sound too fancy.”
Moondancer: “Honestly, it’s just not for me. Their illusions are actually very convincing. So convincing, in fact, that I couldn’t stop thinking about them the whole time we were there. I just couldn’t relax at all.”
Just to be sure, you ask Moondancer if she wouldn’t like to give it another try.
Moondancer: “Thanks for the offer, but I’ll pass. I felt bad enough when I learned how much my sister paid for it that one time. The entire trip to Amblerta was cheaper, and that was real.”
You chuckle at that. Having met Dawn Break, you can’t help but feel that it was all worth it to her if it meant spending time with her little sister.
Moondancer: “Yeah, you’re probably right. Illusions aside, I did enjoy her company. Still, I’ll have to make it up to her some other time, if she’ll let me.”
